This review is from: 10 Brush Walk on the Safe Side Vegan Makeup Brush Set (Misc.) Overall the set is decent. This set it a Dupe of Mica Bella’s Deluxe brush set, however since I don’t own the Mica Bella version I cant say much in comparison. This set is a great deal for bucks, but I wouldn’t bother if the price ever gets raised. I know that Mica Bella is knows for its outrageous prices so you can keep that in mind. The brushes are very soft and sturdy, and actually compared to my mom’s old school synthetic brushes these are amazing. They also do not shed which is so very important! I’ve had them for about a month now and have used all except the bronzer brush. I will say that if you are looking for a pressed eye shadow brush this is NOT the set for you. I’ll do a quick rundown of the individual brushes in order according to the picture(left to right). Powder brush: this brush is OK I wish that it fanned out a bit more, and/or werent so pointy. The straightness of it makes the application a bit heavier than I prefer but if you are looking for coverage on the heavy side then this may be nice for you. Blush brush: DECENT APPLICATION. not much to say about this.. it does the job and I’m happy with it. Bronzer brush: have yet to use. Flat definer brush: GOOD brush. I use this for my eye crease and it applies well. Lip brush: DECENT brush. The bristles have been kind of clumping together since I used it to apply my burt’s bees lip gloss, but besides that it still works well enough. Mini Shader brush: EXCELLENT FOR LOOSE SHADOW. tried this at first for my pressed MAC eye shadow and honestly it sucked because the application was splotchy, but then I tried it later on with my BellaPierre loose mineral shadow and it applies nicely with that. Eyeliner brush: OK brush, this may be my fault for not giving it a better review.. I prefer to use angled brushes to apply liquid/gel liners. Angled brush: EXCELLENT brush. Just stiff enough and the synthetic bristles are soft enough not to irritate the lash line. Small Contour brush: GOOD brush. I use this to pat down/even out my eye shadow bases (for instance my NYX jumbo eyeliner pens). It gets the job done. ***I feel it is useful to mention that there is not much difference between the size of the small and large contour brushes Large Contour brush: GOOD brush. I use this for applying concealor and it works just fine.. I do have one complaint though – it seems to absorb the liquid a little more than I would like and makes it harder to clean it thoroughly. Case: Great case, it even has a little pouch that I’ve put a few other brushes in. I wish it wasn’t white though it will be hard to keep makeup off of in the future.. |
