(USA) – See all my reviews This review is from: Aubrey Organics – Ginkgo Leaf & Ginseng Root Hair Moisturizing Jelly, 8 fl oz gel (Misc.) For months Aubrey Organics – B5 Design Gel, 8 fl oz gel was the only gel I used. Then I realized two things: 1) for my hair with its delicate curl pattern and low-maintenance styling (really non-styling), I needed something with a slightly lighter hold and 2) as my hair got longer the B5 Design Gel was starting to dry out my ends just a bit. So I tried AO’s Ginkgo Leaf & Ginseng Root Hair Moisturizing Jelly and found that for my needs, it works better than B5 Design Gel. This gel has a lighter hold than the B5 Design Gel. It lightly coats the hair to reduce frizz and control curls. It is less effective at holding hair in place – I still think B5 Design Gel is best for that job. Unlike B5, this gel doesn’t dry out my hair, particularly when I put a good leave in conditioner under it such as Aubrey Organics – Calaguala Fern Hair Thick/Conditioner, 4 fl oz liquid. The citrus scent is strong while in the bottle and on wet hair but dissipates after the hair has dried. The gel absorbs very nicely into the hair without leaving it stiff. I still use B5 Design Gel if I need a bit more hold, or on the frizzy parts up front when I’m pulling my hair into a neat ponytail or bun. But now I use this Moisturizing Jelly on the length of my hair after most every wash. The results are excellent. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: one of the best gels for curly hair, April 12, 2009 By This is one of the best gels for curly hair; it adds body, bounce and shine without any plastics, parabens or silicones. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: Great hold, not sticky, November 29, 2008 This review is from: Aubrey Organics – Ginkgo Leaf & Ginseng Root Hair Moisturizing Jelly, 8 fl oz gel (Misc.) I really like the Mandarin Magic Hair Gel. First of all, I have thick, curly hair. I live in a very windy area, and so just walking out the door causes my hair to frizz. I wanted something that wasn’t sticky, wasn’t stiff, and could still keep the frizz at bay. This product does all three. I was nervous because I haven’t used a gel in years, but this gel is very light and my hair dries smooth not sticky. I also like that the product is made from organic ingredients: much better than the old stuff I was putting in my hair. What I’ve learned since using the product: You don’t need to use a lot. My old product I used 3 full palmfuls. This stuff I can use a couple quarter size dollops. Also, the scent is very strong when you first open the bottle, but mellows once it dries. Personally, I don’t think smelling like oranges is bad. |

Keeper, February 14, 2011 This review is from: Aubrey Organics Jay Desert,Herb Revitalizing Shampoo, 11-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty) At first, I was not impressed with the smell, but as the other reviewer mentioned, it does go away. I actually come to appreciate it since it is not sickeningly sweet like most hair products. The results are incredible. This takes my hair from parched to moisturized from the inside without it feeling coated and/or oily. My hair is bouncy and shiny. Love it. HG product. It Works, August 9, 2010 By CurlConscious “hauteclh” (Arlington, VA USA) – See all my reviews This review is from: Aubrey Organics Jay Desert,Herb Revitalizing Shampoo, 11-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty) My search for a sulfate free shampoo is over! When I make time(almost every wash session)I use either Burt’s Bees Avocado Pre-Shampoo Treatment or an Aubrey Organics Conditioner(using the instructions for Deep Conditioning) before I shampoo. Both of these products are very thick and work great, but I still need something to remove dirt from my hair without stripping it. JAY gets the job done. I do not like the fragrance, but after I rinse my hair the odor is gone. I follow the shampoo step with a conditioner and style. |
