I have combination skin that is drier in winter and oily in summer and I’ve been using this Vapour foundation for a few months now. It’s great, very sheer and light but evens skin tone, covers blemishes without looking cakey or layered, and blends in perfectly. I have fairly pale skin that tends to get much tanner in summer so I usually have 3-4 shades of foundations and concealers at any given time. This foundation, though, is light in a way that the color blends in and works with some variation. I don’t wear much makeup and I don’t want to paint the top layer of my skin a totally new color; I just like to even things out a bit and cover some pores. This does the job flawlessly. I went with shade 120, though I might’ve gone a shade or two lighter if I purchased in winter, I think I can get away with this shade year round. I’ve since tried the Vapour Organic Beauty Stratus Luminous Instant Skin Perfector and find it also works really well. It is more of a primer, to be worn under foundation, but I almost never wear that much makeup. I wear the skin perfecter as more of a moisturizer and face highlighter and it masks pores on days where I dont want/need foundation. Both products are very moisturizing and so would work well together but again, I am too much of a minimalist to apply primer, foundation, blush, mascara, etc. I usually wear 1-2 of those on any given day, and all of them at once about 5-6 times per year. That said, I do feel more polished and pulled together when I use the whole line but I just don’t need to or see that becoming part of my morning routine. If you haven’t tried these products, you can get some color samples on Vapour Organic Beauty’s website, though I find looking at the color swatches there rather than the photo on Amazon gave a good enough idea of which to choose. I HIGHLY recommend first buying the Vapour Organic Beauty Mini Collection if it’s still available: for , you get decent-sized foundation, stratus luminous instant skin perfector, and an Aura multi-use blush in Spark. It was a great way for me to try out these products because you never know how shades and consistency, formulas etc will work on your own skin. I was so happy with all three (though I dont think I will buy the skin perfector again anytime soon because it’s just too many products for me) that I also ordered the bronzer, some of the siren lip colors, and a tube of concealer. Excited to try them out and review accordingly! This is a GREAT brand and I wish I’d heard of it sooner. I’ve been a longtime devotee of Korres natural products and Fresh makeup products, especially the lip glosses and Umbrian clay foundation, but have found myself searching out newer and lighter products. I’ve also tried everything from Benefit concealers, primers and highlighters, to Chanel eye makeup and lipsticks. As someone who doesn’t really enjoy wearing makeup but acknowledges that it sometimes makes a big difference, I love the way the Vapour products feel on my skin and see myself wanting to use them more. I hope they branch out into nail polishes and mascaras in the future! |
