I’m surprised more people aren’t raving about this product. The smell is wonderful – not too strong but just enough so you get a few hours worth of lavender scent. The product itself is a medium texture creme – not as thick as I thought it would be. (It fooled me into using a lot because I typically need a very heavy creme for my hair.) I have to say this is the only product that made my hair look oily, and that is saying something since I typically coat it with moroccan oil or coconut oil. When you use less (maybe 1 or 2 pumps) your hair will look great. My hair type is fine and wavy/curly. After I applied the product I let it air dry and I ended up with very few curls; think of the beach style hair (tousled waves) or the Bridget Bardot look. My hair, for the first time, did not have hard ends. My hair is very soft to the touch and quite shiny. I just went for a long walk in 85+ humid weather and my hair has not grown to Bozo proportions around my head. Love this product. It’s probably not for straight haired people or those with oily hair.
Great for Thick, Curly, Coarse Hair.,December 31, 2009
I have looked and looked and looked for a leave in conditioner creme that would actually make my frizzies go away and leave my hair soft and shiny, without being “crunchy”. This does the job! For me, it is definitely NOT too oily……..it shines up my very thick, very curly “white girl” hair and is reasonably priced and organic, to boot.
A little dab’ll do ya,October 16, 2010
When I first attempted to use this, the results were pretty nasty– I’d also just bought some of Dr. Bronner’s lavender liquid soap and used that to wash my hair. While my hair was damp, I combed in a *lot* of this stuff as if using my usual detangler. It ended up drying to a very heavy, clumpy texture, which is particularly awful with hip-length hair.
The next night, I washed my hair with the liquid soap again and followed it with a vinegar rinse to remove any soap residue, which definitely reduced much of the “heavy” feeling right there.
When my hair was still somewhat drippy, I put a *teeny* amount (one small squirt) into one palm, rubbed my hands together (as if foaming up the soap) to spread it around, and then ran them through my hair as if smoothing/detangling a ponytail. (I don’t think this should be applied any closer to the scalp than ponytail starting length.) It dried to a wonderful smooth texture with almost no tangles, even in the barrette-compression zone after wearing one all day.
So I’m officially sold on this stuff, at least as a combination with the lavender soap and a vinegar rinse. It would probably be fine after a regular shampoo, but I still have a whole bottle of lavender soap to finish up.
