Philosophy – The Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash
What it is:A mild, exfoliating facial cleanser.
What it is formulated to do:
Designed to effectively cleanse the skin while providing resurfacing benefits. Gentle enough to use daily, this unique formula is sulfate-free and formulated with ingredients designed to replenish and protect the skin with topical antioxidants as it helps condition the skin and retain its moisture level.
My Thoughts:
I have been using the Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash almost daily since early 2009. It is a very gentle scrub that does not dry or irritate my sensitive skin, and when I don’t use it for a few days I can definitely see and feel the difference. $38.85 CAD at Sephora is a great deal for the 16 oz. bottle, compared to $26.25 CAD for the 8 oz. bottle since it’s a product I am a big fan of and I know I’m going to use it frequently. While this product does contain a few ingredients that receive a moderate hazard score from the Skin Deep database (see below), most ingredients in this product are considered safe.

Though this product has not been reviewed specifically on the Cosmetics Cop website, the following is their brand review of Philosophy:
Strengths: Relatively inexpensive; some of the best products are fragrance-free; very good retinol products; selection of state-of-the-art moisturizers; skin-lightening option that includes sunscreen; great lip balms, including those with a tint; impressive specialty makeup products
Weaknesses: Irritating and/or drying cleansers; average to problematic scrubs for face and lips; at-home peel kits far more gimmicky than helpful; most sunscreens contain lavender oil; several products include irritating essential oils; insufficient options to manage breakouts; the majority of makeup items do not rise above average status.
